Residential Care

Residents at Beechgrove Care Home are able to benefit from group living while maintaining their independence in a secure environment. Our compassionate staff assists residents who are unable to manage and care for themselves at home and require daily assistance.

Our goal is to offer residents 24-hour medical care and overall well-being support using a variety of methods, including our great services and facilities so that they can live a full and happy life every day.

What is Residential Care?

Residential Care helps those who need assistance with everyday duties such as washing, dressing, personal hygiene, medication and mobility. Residents can live in a care home as if it were their own, going about their daily routines while taking use of the many services and amenities available. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to assist residents in living freely with as little or as much assistance as they require.

Our Approach to Residential Care

In addition to their care needs, we prioritise residents’ overall health, well-being and interests, ensuring that they have everything they need to live a happy and fulfilling life. We’re motivated to help individuals live their lives their way, with as much or as little assistance as they need. Our residents enjoy the benefits of shared living with like-minded people while avoiding the hassles of home-ownership. Residents gain confidence and independence, as well as better health and a more active social life. Every day is engaging, motivating and enjoyable thanks to diverse activities and entertainment schedule, as well as regular outings and events.

When is Residential Care Necessary?

If you, or someone you care about, is struggling to live alone and keep up with daily responsibilities and chores, residential care may be necessary. When living alone has a negative impact on one’s emotional or physical health, this type of care may be required. Residential Care is for those who require a little extra assistance on a daily basis to continue doing the things they enjoy, but who are otherwise self-sufficient. We’re here to assist residents in achieving their daily objectives, with as much or as little assistance as they require. We think that our residents’ needs should be served in a variety of ways, with an emphasis on encouraging both physical and mental exercise to improve overall health.

Residents’ Safety Will Remain a Top Priority

COVID-19 preventative measures are achieved to the highest of standards by the staff at Beechgrove Care Home. We will continue to ensure that these preventative measures are in place and that they lead to minimal disruption in our residents’ daily life. We work hard to ensure our home meets the top levels of safety and hygiene, while also ensuring that the home remains a warm and inviting place. Our care team is dedicated to supporting both future residents and their loved ones, as well as those who are currently residing with us during these unknown times.

It is important that meaningful contact is supported and maintained for residents. There are no limits on how often residents can receive visitors but it must remain safe and manageable for the care home staff and residents themselves and we ask that these are pre-booked. Anyone who visits a care home should take a LFD test, you will be asked to show proof of the recent negative LFD test before visiting. This includes family, friends, children over the age of 12 and visiting professionals. You may take the test at home before you visit or the home can help you to carry out the test when you arrive.

A Fluid Resistant Surgical Mask (FRSM) must be worn wherever possible, and Infection Prevention and Control measures should be followed as instructed by care home staff. Residents, family, and friends are able to plan outings or activities from the care home and are able to do by working together with the care home to arrange.

For prospective residents, to have a tour of the home, it is necessary for this to be pre-booked and for evidence of a negative LFT test to be presented prior to entering the home. This applies to all guests within your party. At any time, the COVID-19 regulations and guidance from the Government, National and Local Healthcare Agencies may change. Healthcare Services at Beechgrove:

We provide a rewarding lifestyle by combining person-centred care with all-inclusive facilities. Medical services required from an external source are also available, which include the following:

GP Visits

If residents have any health concerns, they are entitled to schedule regular appointments with a local doctor’s surgery. They can choose to be accompanied by a staff member or attend alone.

Eye Appointments

If any of our residents have any eye-related concerns and need to be seen by an optician, they will be able to attend a routine appointment. Any treatment carried out may come at an additional cost, so we advise checking with the team at Beechgrove before going ahead.

Dental Care

Oral care is extremely important, especially as we grow older. Those who would like regular checkups or residents who may be experiencing oral pain can visit a dentist during their stay.

Physiotherapy

If physiotherapy is medically prescribed, your primary nurse can arrange this service for you, or if a resident would like a private arrangement, this can also be provided.

Chiropody

For residents experiencing foot pain or who have a foot injury, we have a private chiropodist who can attend to your chiropody needs at least once every eight weeks and more regularly as necessary. Please check any fees before booking an appointment.
