Beechgrove is proud to offer residents a large private garden that surrounds the home, available to everyone to enjoy the outdoor space at their leisure. Whether residents want a casual stroll when the sun is shining, do some gardening or be at one with nature, residents have plenty of opportunities to use this outdoor space however they wish.

Residents can enjoy their meals on the patio area when the weather permits, or spend time catching up with loved ones over afternoon tea while enjoying the pleasant views.

Gardening Opportunities

With beautiful raised flowerbeds and plants integrated throughout our garden, we encourage residents to participate in gardening activities which provides the perfect opportunity to get outside and receive the benefits from the fresh air and vitamin D. Many residents find themselves spending more time outside as they grow older and take more of an interest in gardening, it also provides a sense of achievement and independence.

Outdoor Activities

We at Beechgrove make every effort to take make use of the drier, warmer months whenever possible, so we try to host outdoor BBQs and entertainment for residents, employees and family members in the summer. Weekly activities usually take place indoors, however if it’s practical to take the activity outdoors, we will aim to do so for a change of scenery.

We believe that providing our residents with the chance to get outside regularly, take in the fresh air, engage in outdoor activities, and be in nature is important for their overall well-being. Being outdoors provides many mental and physical benefits such as reducing stress and anxiety, improving overall mood, supporting cognitive function, and improving cardiovascular health, balance, and muscle strength.

We organise plenty of outdoor activities including exercise glasses, gardening, and lawn games as just a few examples. When the weather permits, residents can dine outside or enjoy summer events with friends and family.

In order to make our gardens accessible to everyone, we have included wheelchair-accessible paths and seated furniture for those with limited mobility. Our private garden is also safe and secure with fencing and gates, to prevent residents from going beyond the garden fences.
