Improving Our Garden
Educational gardener Walter from Castlebank Park visited Beechgrove Care Home and supported our residents with planting spring bulbs and plants for our garden.
Residents enjoyed the visit and support from Walter who had great knowledge and skills for planting. It was really nice for the residents to get involved and share their knowledge for planting flowers.
Within our home there were great discussions around the most colourful flowers and what flowers are best to be planted for our gardens. A family member of one of our residents is part of the community involvement trust at Castlebank and proposed that they could visit and offer gardening activities with residents at our care home in Lanark to promote their involvement in planning their surroundings and outside garden space.
This whole gardening activity hugely benefitted our residents as it meant they were still involved within Lanark's community, which is important to many of our residents seeing as they're from the local area.
If you'd like to get involved or learn more about our home for you or your loved one, please do get in contact with one of our staff members today.
