Celebrating Success at Lanimer’s Day 2025

Residents, staff and families come together for a proud community celebration in the Royal Burgh of Lanark.

Beechgrove Care Home is proud to have taken part in this year's Lanimer's Day celebrations - a cherished annual tradition in Lanark. Our team of residents, families and staff worked together to decorate the home's window for the festivities, and we were delighted to be awarded 2nd place in the Best Decorated Shop Window competition.

Lanimer's Day is a deeply rooted celebration, unique to Lanark, which brings the local community together each June in a colourful, musical and joyful procession. With its origins dating back centuries, the event features the iconic 'Lanimer Lorries' - spectacularly decorated parade floats - accompanied by a soundtrack of pipe music and enthusiastic support from the town.

At Beechgrove, residents played a central role in the celebrations. From reminiscing about past Lanimers to helping design and create our award-winning display, our residents enjoyed being involved at every step. Events like this are a brilliant way to help residents stay active and connected with the wider community, and this year's Lanimer's Day was no exception.

We were especially honoured to receive a personal visit from the Lanimer Queen, her Chief Maids and the Crowning Lady. This special moment brought smiles to many faces, as residents shared stories of Lanimers past and enjoyed a chance to be part of the long-standing local tradition in a truly meaningful way.
