Staff Dressed Up in Halloween Costumes

Halloween at Beechgrove

Halloween was a great success at Beechgrove Care Home. Staff dressed up on Monday 31st in their best costumes and residents were impressed with how creative some of them were.

Our residents had a great day making their Halloween masquerade masks and also putting together sweety bags for the children visiting for their trick or treat. There were also games for the children to play such as apple bobbing. We had many visitors from residents' great-grandchildren to staff's children. They all went around our residents' rooms and the communal lounge to show off their Halloween costumes.

Our residents loved to see the children dressed up, and we all had fun listening to their Halloween jokes.
This brought back memories for some of our residents, and it led to discussions about how their own kids enjoyed this time of the year and around different fancy dress costumes. Some of our residents talked about how they made their children's costumes by finding old items around their home and how it was not so easy to buy costumes as it is now.

We look forward to doing it all over again next year. The activities team at Beechgrove care home in Lanark have some more exciting plans coming up so watch this space!
